Half Letter भ् (bha halant)

In Hindi, adding the virama (्) below भ creates the half letter भ् — it silences the inherent 'a' vowel and makes this consonant join the next one without a vowel between them. Ways to write the half letter: 1. Halant form: भ्   (the virama ् appears below the full letter)2. Conjunct form: When भ् is followed by another consonant, the two letters merge visually into a conjunct (e.g. भ्क = भ्क). Some conjuncts develop unique shapes; these are learned as whole units. Example words using भ्: - भ्राता ('bhraata') — Brother (formal) - भ्रम ('bhram') — Illusion / Confusion - भ्रूण ('bhrun') — Foetus / Embryo - प्रभ्रंश ('prabhransh') — Corruption (of language) - अभ्यास ('abhyaas') — Practice / Rehearsal
