When (rri / long vocalic r) attaches to a consonant, its matra is — a longer version of ृ written below the consonant.

Note: ॠ and its matra ॄ are extremely rare in modern Hindi. They appear mainly in very old Sanskrit texts. Learning to recognise the symbol is more important than finding common words.

How to Write ॠ

ॠ (ॠ) is a rare vocalic R sound. Write it like ऋ (ऋ) with a long-vowel marker — start with the vertical stroke, add the subscript curl on the right, then extend the hook downward.
