NABCEP requires that you complete at least 20 hours of PV-specific training from an approved training provider before sitting for the exam. Eligible training includes NABCEP-registered provider courses, manufacturer training, trade school programs, and relevant college coursework. You can register and pay for the exam before completing training, but you must submit proof before your exam date. There is no work experience requirement — the PV Associate is specifically designed as an entry-level credential.
